Microsoft launches Windows XP-themed Crocs for $79.95 with nostalgic charms

Microsoft has launched a new line of Windows XP-themed Crocs available for purchase following an initial reveal earlier this month as a sweepstakes item, reports 24brussels.

The limited edition Crocs retail for $79.95 and can be ordered directly from Microsoft’s online store. Designed to evoke nostalgia, the footwear features the iconic blue sky and clouds from the Windows XP wallpaper, complemented by a green sole representing grass. Each pair also includes a six-pack of Microsoft Jibbitz with recognizable icons such as the Internet Explorer logo, Clippy, and the original MSN logo. A Windows XP-themed drawstring backpack is included with the purchase.

The public first got a glimpse of the Windows XP Crocs back in August, when Microsoft offered them for sale to employees ahead of the broader launch. The company clarified at that time that these Crocs do not arise from an official partnership with Crocs; rather, they are intended as a lighthearted, limited-run tribute to Microsoft’s 50th anniversary.

This initiative aligns with Microsoft’s efforts to celebrate its heritage while engaging current customers through nostalgic marketing. By tapping into the collective memory of Windows XP users, Microsoft aims to connect with a demographic that associates the operating system with its formative computing experiences.
