Nintendo Unveils New Mobile App and Product Line for Kids

Nintendo has introduced a new mobile app titled Hello, Mario!, which will be available for iOS, Android, and the Nintendo Switch. This announcement coincided with the launch of a new collection of Mario-themed products targeted at children, set to debut in Japan later this month, reports 24brussels.

The Hello, Mario! app allows children to engage interactively with Mario’s character, reminiscent of the *Super Mario 64* title screen. Players can poke, tug, and fling Mario’s face around the screen as he reacts in various playful ways. Unlike previous Nintendo mobile applications that may feature in-app purchases, Hello, Mario! is intended to be a more straightforward experience.

While the app may not captivate adult audiences, the My Mario product line is expected to attract parental interest. This collection features various items such as plush toys, toddler-safe dinnerware, teething toys, and interactive board books that prominently feature Mario.

Among the product highlights is a pair of wooden building block sets. The smaller set, priced at ¥2,980 (approximately $20), includes Mario, a mushroom, and a question block. A larger set, priced at ¥19,980 (around $135), offers 30 pieces, including characters like Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi, as well as additional building elements like a warp pipe. These character blocks will also incorporate Amiibo functionality, allowing them to be used on the Nintendo Switch.

The My Mario collection will hit Nintendo’s stores in major Japanese cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto on August 26. The Hello, Mario! app will launch on the same day. While there is currently no confirmation regarding an English version of the app, some products from the My Mario range are expected to be available more broadly next year, as reported by Video Games Chronicle.
