Spotify Introduces New Audio Mixing Feature for Premium Users
Spotify has launched a new audio mixing feature for Premium users that allows for customized transitions between tracks. The feature is currently in beta and enables users to blend tracks seamlessly, reports 24brussels.
The “Mix” feature facilitates the automatic mixing of transitions or offers options for manual adjustments including volume, EQ, and effect curves. Users can view waveform and beat data to create unique audio experiences, transforming the way songs flow into one another instead of relying on abrupt transitions.
This innovative tool enables users to enhance their listening experience and provides a more engaging atmosphere during social gatherings or parties when taking on the DJ role. Spotify emphasizes its potential as a user-friendly introduction to audio mixing ahead of more advanced software such as Apple Logic Pro, Reaper, or Audacity.
In addition, Spotify suggests that Premium users can collaborate on mixed playlists. However, details on when this feature will roll out beyond beta, or which specific Premium users will have access, remain unclear. Some users have reported that the feature is not yet visible in their apps, prompting inquiries for more comprehensive information from Spotify.
Those with access to the Mix feature will find it integrated into the toolbar of their created playlists. Alongside an “Auto” function for quick transitions, users can select styles such as “Fade” or “Rise” for greater customization. After perfecting their playlists, users can listen to the results by saving their mixes or revert to the unmixed versions using the “Mix” toggle.
As Spotify continues to test this feature, the anticipation builds among its Premium subscribers eager to experience a more sophisticated audio mixing capability.
