Wyze Launches 4K Security Camera with Advanced Features

Smart home tech provider Wyze has introduced its first 4K security camera, the Wyze Cam Pan v4, now available for $60. The device features color night vision, pan and tilt capabilities, and AI-powered object tracking, enabling it to capture images of people, pets, and vehicles, reports 24brussels.

The Wyze Cam Pan v4 allows users to control the camera remotely via the Wyze app, aiming to provide comprehensive room coverage with a 360-degree pan and 180-degree tilt range. The camera is designed for both indoor and outdoor usage, with an IP65 rating ensuring resistance to dust and water. Notably, it also includes a motion-activated spotlight and a built-in siren, enhancing overall security, along with upgraded two-way audio capabilities compared to its predecessor.

Supporting both 2.4 and 5GHz networks, the camera utilizes Wi-Fi 6 technology for improved connectivity over larger distances. It seamlessly integrates with smart home devices via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT, and Wyze Automations. MicroSDXC cards with a capacity of up to 512GB can be used for continuous local recording. The launch of the Cam Pan v4 comes as part of Wyze’s efforts to regain customer confidence following prior concerns regarding security vulnerabilities in its products.
