Czech President to Present Ukraine Reconstruction Plan at Rome Summit

Czech President Petr Pavel will unveil a comprehensive strategy for Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction during an international recovery conference in Rome on Thursday. The initiative aims to stabilize and modernize Ukraine’s economy, attract investment, facilitate the return of refugees, and expedite Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, reports 24brussels.

The presidential office stated that this plan is intended to assist international partners in coordinating their contributions to maximize effectiveness.

The Rome summit will convene governments, international organizations, and private investors to explore the best ways to mobilize capital and expertise. Key topics will include the development of human capital, decentralized reconstruction efforts, and enhancing institutional capacities.

Czechia has positioned itself as a pivotal contributor to Ukraine’s recovery, highlighting a growing array of ongoing projects across various sectors, such as energy, water management, healthcare, and the restoration of critical infrastructure.

In March, the Czech foreign ministry announced that Czech companies would receive €188 million in EU funds to advance reconstruction efforts, which encompass the modernization of six Ukrainian hospitals.

Additionally, Czechia’s initiative to supply ammunition has successfully secured over 1.5 million artillery shells for Ukraine, with shipments continuing as part of their ongoing support.
