Germany Lifts Immunity of Far-Right MEP Maximilian Krah Amid Bribery Investigations

Central to the allegations is Krah’s purported acceptance of bribes from companies with ties to China, as well as his collaboration with his former aide, Jian G. The latter was arrested just prior to the European elections last year and is currently undergoing trial on charges of espionage for China. Prosecutors claim that Jian G gathered approximately 500 sensitive parliamentary documents in Brussels during his employment with Krah between 2019 and 2024.
