Arnaud De Lie Claims Victory at Bretagne Classic

On Sunday, Belgian rider Arnaud De Lie (Lotto) triumphed at the Bretagne Classic in Plouay, clinching a win after a grueling 261-kilometre race against a trimmed peloton. This victory marks his 30th professional win, coming just a week after his impressive double at the Renewi Tour, reports 24brussels.

De Lie outpaced Frenchman Emilien Jeannière (TotalEnergies) and Dutchman Olav Kooij (Visma | Lease a Bike), while fellow Belgian Jasper Stuyven (Lidl–Trek) finished in tenth place.

Despite the absence of former champion Wout van Aert, Team Belgium showcased a formidable roster, including Tim Wellens, Maxim Van Gils, Thibau Nys, Cian Uijtdebroeks, and Tiesj Benoot. The race was marked by aggressive strategies, highlighted by local favourite Valentin Madouas (Groupama–FDJ) who attempted a solo lead before being caught just before the finish.

In a strong finale, De Lie proved dominant in the sprint, succeeding Switzerland’s Marc Hirschi as the new champion. Van Aert remains the last Belgian to have won this title, achieving victory in 2022.
