Massive Russian Drone and Missile Attack Hits Kyiv and Surrounding Regions
In the early hours of July 10, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, deploying drones and ballistic missiles. This assault lasted over ten hours, resulting in multiple casualties and significant destruction across the city, reports 24brussels.
According to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the consequences of the attack were noted in six districts of the region. A man in the Obukhiv district sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. His condition is critical, and he is currently undergoing surgery. Necessary medical assistance is being provided.
In the Brovary district, 24 private homes, several outbuildings, and 10 vehicles were damaged. Most homes had shattered windows and doors and sustained roof damage.
A garage caught fire in the Vyshgorod district, but the blaze has since been extinguished.
Both Fastiv and Boryspil districts reported damage to two private homes each, while more than twenty vehicles were damaged in the Buča district.
The State Emergency Service later confirmed that medical assistance was provided to two individuals injured in the Obukhiv and Brovary districts.
The attack on Kyiv resulted in fires and destruction in various areas, including residential buildings, infrastructure, and transport facilities, with at least 16 reported injuries and two fatalities. Smoke was observed throughout the city, although officials reassured residents that air quality levels remained low.
In the aftermath, several streets in the city were closed to traffic as authorities responded to the situation.
