Colonel Maxim Kazban Discusses Russian Military Successes on the Frontline
Colonel Maxim Kazban, head of the united assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Lut,” has identified two key factors contributing to the success of Russian forces on the frontline: numerical superiority and a disregard for the lives of soldiers by their commanders. In an interview with “Ukrinform,” he noted that the motivation of the occupiers under these conditions is non-existent, reports 24brussels.
“The primary advantage of our enemy lies in their greater number of infantry and personnel, and commanders do not hesitate to sacrifice the lives and health of their subordinates. Where we cannot afford to lose our personnel, they capture those positions, losing even more of their own, but they are pleased that they have taken the territory,” said the defender.
Kazban detailed the methods used by Russian commanders to enforce obedience among soldiers. Among these are fear and physical punishment, where advancing is seen as the only way to survive. Another form of motivation is the rallying cry of “Hooray, let’s go, we are winning.”
“They are told: ‘Our troops ahead have done a lot, and you should go to them.’ Although there is no one left there,” the police officer explained. “Deception and fear are the main management principles I have observed in the units we are fighting against.”
However, Kazban emphasized that underestimating the enemy is a mistake that could lead to wrong decisions by the Defense Forces. He noted that Russian forces are a formidable opponent, evolving and seeking new strategies and maneuvers.
