Death Toll Rises Following Russian Strike in Dnipro

On June 24, 2025, the death toll from a Russian missile strike on Dnipro increased to 18, confirmed Serhiy Lysak, head of the regional military administration. Nearly 300 people were injured as a result of attacks on Dnipro and the nearby town of Samara, with at least 27 reported among the wounded being children, reports 24brussels.

“After the day of horror experienced yesterday, the region mourns its losses. Today, Dnipro is in mourning, having lost 18 residents due to the enemy’s attack, along with two fatalities in Samara. Dnipropetrovsk is in grief. This pain resonates in every heart and never truly fades… May the victims of the Russian murderers rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased,” Lysak stated.

Lysak also reported that overnight on June 25, Russian forces struck Nikopol with FPV drones; fortunately, there were no casualties. Additionally, on the evening of June 24, attacks involving KAB bombs targeted the Novopavlivka community in the Synelnykove district, resulting in a fire, but again, no injuries were reported.

For context, Russian forces launched the ballistic missile strikes on Dnipro and Samara around 11:00 a.m. on June 24. Four missiles struck Dnipro alone, causing extensive damage to numerous buildings and schools. A passenger train was also affected during the attack.
