Drone attacks on Donetsk result in major fire at shopping center

Drone Strike Hits Occupied Donetsk Shopping Center

Late on October 11, 2025, a series of explosions rocked the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk. Unmanned aerial vehicles launched an attack, targeting the “Sigma” shopping center, formerly known as Auchan, resulting in a significant fire outbreak, reports 24brussels.

The drone assault ignited a massive blaze that engulfed the entire premises of the shopping center. Eyewitnesses shared videos on local social media, demonstrating the extensive damage caused. During the fire, the ceiling of the “Sigma” shopping center reportedly collapsed.

This incident follows previous strikes conducted by Ukrainian forces against Russian military headquarters in Donetsk. Notably, on June 30, Ukrainian forces targeted the command post of the 8th Combined Arms Army of Russia, reportedly eliminating its communication chief. The Ukrainian military utilized Storm Shadow missiles or the R-360 Neptune cruise missiles for that operation.
