Drone Strikes Target Russian Military-Industrial Complex
In the early hours of July 25, drones targeted two significant facilities of Russia’s military-industrial complex, reported Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council. The strikes occurred in the Stavropol Krai and Tambov regions.
The Nevinnomyssk Nitrogen Plant in Stavropol Krai was hit, where chemical raw materials for explosives, including nitric acid and ammonium nitrate, are produced. Kovalenko noted that this plant is a key supplier for manufacturing munitions, such as artillery shells, aerial bombs, and rockets.
“This is a crucial supplier for the production of ammunition, including artillery shells, aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems,” Kovalenko explained.
In the Tambov region, drones targeted the Kotovsk Powder Plant, one of the oldest and strategically important facilities for the Russian military-industrial complex. This plant produces powders for a wide range of weaponry, including small arms, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, aviation, and missile systems.
“Its products are used by dozens of defense enterprises. Essentially, without Kotovsk, neither ‘Grad’ nor ‘Smerch’ can function,” Kovalenko stated.
It is important to note that on July 17, drones attacked the strategically vital Shchekinazot chemical plant in the Tula region of Russia, which supplies key materials for the Russian military-industrial complex. The strike has significantly impacted Russia’s ability to manufacture missiles, drones, and munitions, disrupting their technological chain.
