EU expands military support for Ukraine

3 months ago

The European Union plays a key role in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. In recent months, Brussels has announced new military assistance programs, including the supply of ammunition, modernization of the Armed Forces, and Ukraine’s integration into the European defense space.

In 2025, the EU approved:

  • An additional 1.5 million rounds of ammunition for Ukraine under the Joint Procurement Initiative;
  • Funding for drone technology – 20 million euros for tactical UAVs (ISR);
  • Continuation of the EUMAM Ukraine mission – training of Ukrainian military in Europe;
  • Acceleration of military mobility – facilitating the transportation of equipment across Europe.

These measures are a response to the growing security challenges in the region.
