Explosions heard in Odesa as Russians attack city with strike drones, one hits residential building

Drone Strikes Hit Odesa Amid Night Explosions

On June 28, 2025, starting at 23:40 on June 27, Odesa was rocked by a series of explosions. This was reported by Odesa’s Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

“Attention! Odesa! Several enemy strike drones are over the city. Stay in shelters until the all-clear!” the Ukrainian Air Force warned at 23:51.

As midnight approached, explosions and the sounds of air defense continued in Odesa.

At 00:03, Trukhanov alerted residents of the Primorsky district, which includes the city center, about potential danger.

Another significant explosion was reported at 00:11.

Public channels reported that one of the drones struck a residential high-rise, igniting a fire. Official information regarding this incident is pending.

At 00:15, the air raid alert in Odesa Oblast was lifted after lasting about one and a half hours since 22:45 on June 27.

By 00:27, local media reported visible flames in Odesa following the explosions.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant as officials assess the situation, reports 24brussels.
