Explosions Reported in Kyiv Amid Drone Attack
On July 7, 2025, explosions were heard in Kyiv at approximately 1:45 AM as the city faced an attack involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). “Kyiv is under drone attack. Air defense is operational,” stated the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, urging residents to remain in safe locations, reports 24brussels.
An air raid alert related to the threat from Russian drones was issued at 1:37 AM. Just a minute later, the Air Forces of Ukraine informed that hostile UAVs were approaching Kyiv from the north.
At 1:58 AM, public communications warned of imminent danger for several districts in Kyiv, including Obolon, Podil, Pochayna, and Lukianivka. Shortly thereafter, at 2:04 AM, reporters from “Suspilne” confirmed the occurrence of explosions in the city.
Tkachенко further reported at the same time, “We are receiving information about the consequences of the attack in the Desnyansky district. Preliminary reports indicate that parts of a downed UAV have fallen there, with no fires reported.”
The air raid alert in Kyiv and the surrounding region was lifted at 2:15 AM, having lasted for 38 minutes.
