Explosions Rock Odesa Amid Ongoing Air Alerts
On October 5, 2025, explosions were reported in Odesa around 2 a.m., prompting local authorities to issue warnings about drone activity in the region, reports 24brussels.
Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, urged residents to find safe locations, stating, “Air defense is active. I ask everyone to stay in safe places.”
The air alert in Odesa began at 1:07 a.m. and had been ongoing for over an hour at the time of the explosions.
Prior to the blasts, eyewitness accounts on local channels indicated the presence of between seven to ten drones flying toward Odesa.
At 2:18 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reiterated their calls for residents in Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kyiv to remain in shelters for their safety.
As explosions continued, air defense systems responded, with reports of sounds identified as “Shahed” drones in the vicinity.
