Ukraine Unveils New Flamingo Missile Capabilities
On August 18, 2025, the Ukrainian company FirePoint showcased its newly developed cruise missile, the Flamingo, following a feature by Associated Press photographer. Military analyst Vitaliy Kononuchenko later secured exclusive footage of both training and combat launches of the missile, reports 24brussels.
The videos display successful launches of the Flamingo missile against targets within the Russian Federation. FirePoint, located in a secure facility within the Carpathian forests, conducted initial successful tests months ago, subsequently moving into mass production.
The development focused on three critical components: range, warhead size, and rapid deployment and launch capabilities. All three of these elements have been effectively realized in the Flamingo.
With a warhead weighing 1,150 kilograms and a range exceeding 3,000 kilometers, the missile can now strike targets that were previously unreachable for Ukrainian strike assets, including long-range drones. In addition, it is designed to be resilient against Russian electronic warfare measures.
Combat operations utilizing the Flamingo missiles have already demonstrated their efficacy, successfully hitting designated targets within Russia. The company is concurrently ramping up production and expanding its operations, as it is also a key manufacturer of the widely used “FP” drone series.
