Explosion Destroys Gas Pipeline Near Vladivostok
In the early hours of July 5, an explosion near Vladivostok destroyed sections of the “Vladivostok” main gas pipeline, which was partially commissioned in March of this year. Another explosion occurred at a water pipeline supplying potable water to Russian military units, reports 24brussels.
According to sources from Ukrainian intelligence, the blasts took place around 1:00-2:00 AM, resulting in a large-scale fire. The pipeline runs along the coast of the Sea of Japan and specifically supplies gas to some units of the 155th Brigade of the Pacific Fleet’s Marine Corps.
The source indicated that to conceal the incidents from the local population, coinciding with the celebrations of Vladivostok’s 165th anniversary, mobile internet and communication were disabled in the Lazurnaya Bay area.
Local authorities have yet to comment on the incident.
