Ukrainian Defense Ministry Cleans 5,136 Hectares of Land Amid Ongoing Unexploded Ordnance Threat
On July 4, 2025, Ukrainian demining units successfully cleared 5,136 hectares of land in recently liberated areas from explosive devices, with the Ministry of Defense reporting that 4,850 hectares are designated for agricultural use, reports 24brussels.
Additionally, demining specialists have cleared:
- 10.06 kilometers of roads;
- 30.65 kilometers of railway tracks;
- 5.53 kilometers of pipelines;
- 0.6 kilometers of power lines;
- 5.06 hectares of water bodies.
In total, 3,546 explosive devices were neutralized during the month. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, over 452,000 such items have been destroyed.
Currently, there are 110 certified demining operators active in Ukraine, three of whom received qualification in July. The Defense Ministry emphasizes that only certified operators are engaged in humanitarian demining.
