In Smila, the number of injured nearly doubled due to a massive Russian attack

Russian Military Launches Combined Attack on Smila, Injuring 11

In a significant escalation, Russian forces conducted a massive combined attack on the city of Smila in the Cherkasy region on the night of June 29, resulting in 11 injuries, including two children, as reported by the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Igor Taburets, in a Telegram statement.

Emergency medical care is currently being provided to the injured. The assault involved the downing of eight Iranian-made Shahed drones and three Russian missiles. The attack specifically targeted civilian infrastructure, damaging residential buildings and four educational institutions, with the National University of Food Technologies suffering nearly complete destruction. The site of the attacks is being surveyed for further assessment.

Today, Russia launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying 477 drones and 60 missiles, including Kalibr, Kinzhal, Iskander-M/KN-23, and X-101/Iskander-K missiles. Ukrainian military forces successfully intercepted 475 aerial targets. Tragically, during the defense, pilot Maxim Ustimenko was killed in action.

In the Lviv region, critical infrastructure was damaged, while in Ivano-Frankivsk, one woman reported injuries. Additionally, the main and suburban railway stations in Poltava were also struck during the attacks, highlighting the extensive impact of today’s military actions.

Authorities continue to gather information and respond to the ongoing situation, underscoring the urgent need for humanitarian support in the affected areas, reports 24brussels.
