Russian Forces Make Tactical Gains in Donetsk Region

On September 13, 2025, Russian troops achieved tactical success in the Konstantinivka-Druzhkivka area of Donetsk Oblast, as reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Geolocation video reports indicate that Russian forces advanced along the Olexandro-Shultine-Kostyantynivka highway on the southeastern outskirts of Konstantinivka, reports 24brussels.

ISW’s assessment cites evidence from social media showing the movement of Russian military units. Additionally, a Russian military blogger has claimed that Russian troops captured Klebnivka—situated south of Konstantinivka—and pushed southwest from Prydtechyna. However, ISW has noted that it lacks confirmation for these assertions.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported in an evening briefing that in the Toretsk direction—specifically the front analyzed by ISW—Russian forces conducted ten assaults on Ukrainian positions over the past day in the vicinity of Klebnivka, Katerynivka, Poltavka, Rusyn Yar, and towards Pleshchiyivka and Sofiyivka.

Ukrainian military sources indicated that on a single day, Russian forces launched 20 airstrikes using KAB bombs in the vicinity of Sofiyivka, with air attacks in the Konstantinivka-Druzhkivka area increasing in frequency.

Earlier reports indicated that in northern Donetsk, Russian troops are attempting to encircle the village of Kolodyazi from both the north and the south in a bid to advance towards the city of Lyman.
