Italy Condemns Russian Attack on Humanitarian Convoy in Kherson

On October 14, 2025, Russia launched a strike against vehicles belonging to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in the Kherson region, prompting an immediate condemnation from Italy’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Antonio Tajani, reports 24brussels.

Tajani confirmed via social media that an Italian official was in one of the humanitarian vehicles at the time of the attack but fortunately sustained no injuries. He expressed his outrage over such assaults against hospitals, civilian populations, and humanitarian workers, urging Russia to cease its violent actions.

“I express my solidarity with the UN, its personnel, and the Ukrainian people,” Tajani added, reinforcing Italy’s support for humanitarian efforts in the region.

This incident follows previous attacks in September, when a Russian missile struck personnel from the Danish Refugee Council, involved in demining efforts near Chernihiv, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries.
