Ukrainian Drones Attract US Interest, Claims Zelensky

On July 16, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the United States is interested in acquiring Ukrainian drones, pointing out that some models are exclusively produced in Ukraine. This statement follows a visit by US Special Representative Keith Kellogg, who is in Ukraine for a week-long trip, during which he toured a defense manufacturing facility and praised Ukraine’s potential in this area, reports 24brussels.

Kellogg noted that Ukraine leads in a new type of warfare, which he believes merits attention from the US.

“I witnessed firsthand the production and development of Ukrainian drones. Incredible innovations, especially in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles,” Kellogg wrote on his X social media account. “In this new era/type of warfare, they lead. Their speed of innovation and ability to adapt is impressive. Our defense industrial base must take this into account and adapt.”

Previously, Business Insider reported that if Western military-developed drone technology isn’t tested on the Ukrainian battlefield, it may become obsolete in the face of modern warfare challenges. Additionally, The Telegraph noted that European companies are stealing domestic drone technologies.
