Explosions Rock Occupied Khartsyzk in Donetsk Region
On July 2, 2025, significant explosions occurred in Khartsyzk, a city in the Donetsk region currently under occupation. Andriy Kovaleko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), reported via Telegram that the blasts targeted a “large ammunition depot” of Russian forces, reports 24brussels.
Local Telegram channels shared videos depicting the explosions and subsequent detonations, with particular emphasis on the chaotic scenes in the area. The footage, however, included inappropriate language.
Currently, Radio Free Europe is unable to independently verify the explosion reports in Khartsyzk. There has been no official comment from either the occupying authorities or the Ukrainian Armed Forces regarding the incident.
Military Journal noted that the ammunition depot was detonated approximately 60 kilometers away from the frontline. This attack adds to the ongoing conflict dynamics in the region.
Earlier, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed an attack on the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant “Kupol,” which manufactures short-range surface-to-air missile systems and combat drones.
