Kharkiv Under Heavy Attack with Over 20 Strikes on July 26
On July 26, Kharkiv was subjected to a severe nighttime aerial attack, during which the city experienced more than 20 hostile strikes over the course of nearly three hours. This was reported by the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhiv.
The assault involved the use of four guided aerial bombs, two ballistic missiles, and subsequently 15 “Shahed” drones. The strikes caused significant damage to residential high-rises, civilian enterprises, roads, and contact networks.
As of the morning, emergency services were still battling seven fires in the Kyiv district.
Five individuals sustained injuries in the attacks, including three rescuers who were wounded during a secondary strike while responding to the initial bombing.
“The enemy targets those who are saving lives and dealing with the aftermath of bombings. This is pure terrorism,” Terekhiv emphasized.
From the very first moments after the bombardments, utility services, including energy workers, heat suppliers, road crews, water management, metro services, lighting teams, landscaping services, and elevator maintenance teams, have been working at the strike sites. “Kharkiv is recovering even while it is still smoldering!” the mayor stated.
Earlier reports on the same day indicated that Russian forces conducted massive shelling in Kharkiv and its region using rockets, guided aerial bombs, and attack drones.
