Mass Drone Attack on Lozova: Critical Infrastructure Damaged

On August 5, Lozova, located in the Kharkiv region, suffered its most severe drone attack from Russian forces since the onset of the full-scale invasion. The assault resulted in damage to critical infrastructure, multi-storey buildings, and private properties. Civilian casualties were reported, including two children, reports 24brussels.

According to Serhiy Zelensky, head of the Lozova City Territorial Community, the attack has left parts of the city without electricity, specifically affecting the Avylyvka area and the Katerynivskyi rural district. Water supply disruptions have also been observed. Emergency responders and medical teams are currently engaged in recovery efforts on the scene.

“Last night, the Russians executed true terror against peaceful civilians who were quietly sleeping. Sooner or later, they will answer for everything,” Zelensky stated.

Local authorities are urging residents to report property damage as they continue documenting the aftermath of the attack. Changes to public transport operations are also expected.

Zelensky emphasized that this is currently all the information available for public release and added that efforts to address the consequences of the strikes are ongoing.

It is noteworthy that Russian forces continue to enhance their strike drones of the Shahed type.
