Massive attack on Poltava region reported, with damage but no casualties

Russian Forces Launch Large-Scale Attack on Poltava Region

In the early hours of August 19, 2025, Russian forces conducted a significant attack on the Poltava region using drones and ballistic missiles, reports 24brussels. Although there were no reported casualties, damage has been confirmed, according to the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Kohut.

Kohut stated, “Impacts and debris were recorded in the Kremenchuk and Lubny districts. Administrative buildings of local energy sector enterprises were affected.”

In the Lubny district, the attack left 1,471 residential and 119 business consumers without electricity. Units from the State Emergency Service and energy companies are currently working to mitigate the aftermath of the shelling.

Reports indicate that earlier in the night, Russian troops launched dozens of drones targeting Kremenchuk. Additionally, explosions were heard within the Kremenchuk district. Monitoring channels reported that two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were also fired at the region.
