Military Proposals for Ceasefire Negotiations Formulated by Military Chiefs

Military chiefs from several nations have developed proposals aimed at paving the way for negotiations to end the war against Ukraine and establish sustainable peace in Europe, reports 24brussels.

The formulated options are set to be presented to national security advisors for inclusion in the diplomatic process. The committee noted that coordination and planning will continue depending on the progress of the negotiations.

The consultations involved the leaders of the General Staffs from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine, and NATO’s European Joint Forces Commander, Alexis Grynkevych. Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi participated in the discussions via video link. He emphasized that through unity and political support from partners, real peace can be achieved while ensuring security for Ukraine and the entire continent.

Earlier, on August 17, co-chairs of the “coalition of willing” – French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer – announced their readiness to deploy support forces following the cessation of hostilities. London also clarified that the coalition will soon hold talks with American representatives to enhance security plans.

President Zelensky has reported ongoing diplomatic negotiations aimed at strengthening security guarantees.
