Russian Airstrikes Target Key Bridge in Kherson Region
On August 3, 2025, Russian occupation forces launched a second airstrike on the Ostryivskyi Bridge, a crucial link between Kherson and the Korabel neighborhood. Military officer Stanislav Bunyatov, known by his call sign “Osman,” identified the threats posed by these strikes, stating they significantly complicate Ukrainian logistics and jeopardize the control of southern Kherson, which borders the temporarily occupied areas of the Kherson region, reports 24brussels.
Bunyatov emphasized that the attacks increase the risk for residents in the area, prompting local authorities to urge those in the Korabel neighborhood to evacuate to safer locations in the city. This escalation highlights the ongoing military struggles as the region faces intensified pressures from Russian forces.
Vladyslav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, reported that there are currently no Russian soldiers prepared to cross the Dnipro River and storm the provincial capital. However, he noted an uptick in Russian assault operations around the Antonivskyi Bridge and the islands at the Dnipro’s mouth.
The situation remains precarious as military actions continue to unfold, impacting civilian safety and regional stability. The Ukrainian military faces ongoing challenges in maintaining control and safeguarding logistics against the backdrop of these aggressive tactics by Russian forces.
Despite the threats, Ukrainian defense efforts persist, with military and civilian coordination crucial in mitigating risks and ensuring public safety in the affected regions. The recent strikes underscore the volatile nature of the conflict in southern Ukraine.
