Ukrainian Naval Forces Intercept Russian Drones in Overnight Attack

During an overnight airstrike by Russian forces on June 29, Ukrainian Naval Forces successfully intercepted three SHAHED-136 kamikaze drones, according to reports from the official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Naval Forces. The military has confirmed that it continues to engage and neutralize enemy threats on land, at sea, and in the air, reports 24brussels.

The specific location where the Ukrainian sailors downed the enemy drones was not disclosed. However, air raid alerts were issued across various regions during the night, with Mykolaiv being the primary target of the attacks.

It has been noted that naval aviation also plays a crucial role in combating hostile aerial threats even far from coastal areas. In a separate incident earlier that day, Russian forces launched strikes on Ukraine using advanced munitions, including “Kinzhal” missiles, “Kalibr” cruise missiles, and drones, targeting cities such as Kremenchuk, Poltava, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Lviv oblasts.

These ongoing military engagements underscore the heightened tensions in the region as both sides continue their efforts to assert control and protect strategic interests.
