N. Korea Supplies Arms to Russia Amid Ongoing Conflict

On August 15, 2025, North Korea is reportedly supplying munitions and ballistic missiles to Russia via maritime routes through the ports of Vladivostok and Nakhodka, as well as through rail and air, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, reports 24brussels.

The intelligence agency noted that maritime transport utilizes ships named “Lady R,” “Maria,” “Maya-1,” and “Angara,” which are loaded at the North Korean port of Rajin.

Rail supplies are facilitated through the Hasansky border station in Russia. Since January 2024, a continuous connection has operated between the two countries, primarily supplying artillery, according to military intelligence.

Aerial deliveries typically involve short-range missiles, such as the KN-23/24, with flights originating from Pyongyang to Vladivostok.

Overall, North Korea has been supplying Russia with artillery shells, rockets for multiple launch rocket systems, and ballistic missiles, including the Hwason-11 type. Since June 2023, Russia has received up to 150 ballistic missiles KN-23/24 and approximately 6.5 million artillery munitions from North Korea.

Additionally, Pyongyang has transferred two 600 mm caliber multiple launch rocket systems, up to 120 units of 240 mm caliber MRS, and around 170 units of 107 mm caliber MRS.

The list of military equipment supplied to Russia also includes about 190 self-propelled artillery pieces of calibers 170 mm and 122 mm, around 100 122 mm howitzers, and up to 100 140 mm mortars. This is not an exhaustive list of the cargo.

In just July of this year, Russian maritime vessels delivered 7,400 tons of military products from North Korea to Russia.
