Increased Casualties Reported in Vinnytsia Following Russian Drone Strikes
Russian forces launched drone attacks on Vinnytsia in the early hours of July 16, resulting in at least seven casualties, including five individuals with burns, two of whom are in serious condition, according to Natalya Zabolotna, First Deputy Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration. The attacks have also caused damage to civil infrastructure in the area, reports 24brussels.
Firefighting teams have localized a blaze at one industrial site struck by a drone, while efforts are ongoing at another location to mitigate damage.
Additionally, four residential buildings in the region were affected, suffering roof, window, and door damage, with one building experiencing significant destruction.
In total, Vinnytsia was targeted by 28 drones, with air defense forces reportedly destroying around 18 of them. “I thank the air defense forces for protecting the sky,” Zabolotna remarked.
In related developments, Russian forces also attacked Kryvyi Rih with drones and ballistic missiles during the night, injuring a 17-year-old boy who is currently in critical condition. The assault caused considerable destruction to an enterprise in the city.
On the evening of July 15, Russian forces targeted Kharkiv with drones for 14 minutes, launching 16 strikes on the Kyiv district of the city. Some drones were intercepted by air defense units, with reports of three individuals injured and a fire erupting at the strike locations.
