Russian Drone Assault Hits Ukraine on August 29
In the night of August 29, Russian forces launched a sweeping attack on Ukraine employing 68 strike drones of the Shahed type and various imitation drones. This information was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 24brussels.
The assailants launched their drones from several locations, including Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The Ukrainian defense countered the aerial attack using aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare divisions, drone systems, and mobile fire groups.
Preliminary data by 08:00 indicated that air defense forces intercepted or suppressed 46 enemy Shahed drones and various imitation drones across northern and eastern Ukraine.
Reports confirmed that 22 drones struck nine locations in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Earlier reports noted that as a result of the Russian shelling in Dnipropetrovsk region, a cultural house caught fire, and significant damage was inflicted on a high-rise apartment building along with other structures.
