Russian Occupants Face Payment Issues, Reports Military Intelligence

Approximately 10% of Russian troops from the Southern Military District are not receiving their promised payments in full or at all, according to reports from Ukraine’s Military Intelligence. The summary, based on documents from the Russian defense ministry, indicates that over 2,500 soldiers have not received their payments due to lack of documentation proving their service status.

Additionally, around 3,000 soldiers are reported to have missed payments due to “absence of banking details.” More than 20,000 others are receiving incomplete payments as a result of missing relevant orders.

Families of over 2,500 deceased soldiers have also not received the payments due to them, along with more than 2,000 individuals who have been discharged from military service. The intelligence agency notes that this report reflects conditions in just one of five military districts, suggesting that the issues could be even more severe nationwide.

“Such systemic failures may indicate a deliberate policy by the aggressor state to defraud its military personnel, whom the Kremlin uses as cannon fodder. This further confirms that in the Russian army, people are merely expendable resources,” stated Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson for Military Intelligence.

It has been indicated that the analysis of the intelligence obtained reveals a significant deterioration in the payment situation within the Russian Armed Forces throughout the current year.

Earlier, Military Intelligence released evidence of the increasing Russian military presence in the city of Gyumri, Armenia, which included a list of measures for the “replenishment” of units of the Russian military.

According to reports, the deteriorating situation with payments reflects broader issues within the Russian military infrastructure and could have serious implications for troop morale and operational efficiency, amid ongoing conflicts.

Observers note that the recurring payment issues could provoke further unrest among service members and their families, highlighting the potential for growing discontent within the ranks.

Moreover, the acknowledgment of payment delays and issues raises questions about the overall management and support systems within the Russian military, which may exacerbate existing challenges as the conflict continues.

The intelligence report emphasizes the need for accountability and reform within the Russian military structure to address these serious shortcomings and to provide adequate support for personnel during ongoing operations, reports 24brussels.
