Russia’s Mass Abduction of Ukrainian Children Under the Guise of ‘Summer Holidays’
On August 28, 2025, it has been reported that Russia is forcibly removing young Ukrainians from temporarily occupied territories, claiming they are being sent for “summer holidays”, reports 24brussels. Authorities from the Center for National Resistance indicate that this summer, approximately 85,000 Ukrainian children from occupied regions, as well as 180,000 children from families of Russian soldiers, have received what the occupiers call “special support”, with the program budget exceeding 62 billion rubles.
Experts from the Center emphasize that this initiative is not about “rehabilitation”, but rather constitutes a systematic campaign of Russification, ideological indoctrination, and the actual kidnapping of Ukrainian children from their homes.
Earlier, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham disclosed that during the ongoing war, Russia has forcibly taken at least 19,500 children from Ukraine.
