Russia Attempts to Shift Blame for Drone Attack in Poland
On September 10, 2025, Russian propaganda is allegedly attempting to deflect responsibility for a drone attack over Poland onto Ukraine. The Center for Countering Disinformation states that Russian media and Telegram channels are spreading claims that the drone incursion is a “deliberate provocation by Ukraine and a segment of European elites” designed to embroil NATO in confrontation with Russia, reports 24brussels.
Furthermore, these propaganda outlets assert that Ukraine employed electronic warfare means to redirect Russian drones towards Polish territory.
The Center emphasized that these Russian assertions are false and that Russia must face stringent repercussions for this incursion. “Only new, severe sanctions and increased international pressure can halt the aggressor,” the statement concluded.
According to Rzeczpospolita, over 23 Russian drones violated Polish airspace. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that approximately 19 drones entered from Belarus, marking a notable shift in the route of some drones. At least one Polish building has been damaged due to the incursions. In response to this drone attack, Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the temporary chargé d’affaires of Russia, Andrii Ordash, for discussions.
