Russian Forces Intensify Drone Attacks on Kherson Region
The Kherson direction continues to be one of the most heavily shelled by Russian forces, with daily reports indicating the highest number of attacks using FPV kamikaze drones. According to spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, Russian troops are deploying up to 250 of these drones daily in the area, reports 24brussels.
Voloshin noted, “This is a significant number. For example, on two fronts in the Zaporizhzhia region, the enemy uses an average of 190-200 FPV drones. However, in Kherson and the surrounding villages, more than two hundred are launched each day.”
He added that occupation forces are also systematically striking the right bank of Kherson region with aerial bombardments, targeting areas such as Odradokam’yanka and Lviv. The Russians are launching unguided missiles in an attempt to destroy anything approaching the front lines or the Dnieper River.
“Russia aims to turn the coastal area into a zone of complete destruction, leaving no structures, no shelters, and no civilian population. Their goal is to hit any objects that may have strategic or defensive significance,” Voloshin explained.
It’s important to recall that Ukrainian forces liberated the right bank of Kherson region in the summer and autumn of 2022, with the city of Kherson itself being deoccupied on November 11 of that year.
At the same time, Russian forces continue mass attacks on Ukrainian cities, utilizing missiles, kamikaze drones, aerial bombs, and artillery.
Despite the Kremlin’s denials, these strikes often target civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and critical energy facilities. Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these actions as war crimes committed by the Russian Federation.
