Russia Launches Ballistic Missile Strikes on Multiple Ukrainian Regions
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, Russia simultaneously launched ballistic missiles at four regions of Ukraine from three different directions. A missile struck residential buildings in Kharkiv, resulting in casualties, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov. Reports indicate two individuals were injured, including a 13-year-old girl, reports 24brussels.
Oleg Grygorov, head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, stated that the consequences of the strike are being assessed; initially, there were no casualties reported, but there is damage to property. Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar mentioned that the impact occurred near an educational institution.
Explosions were also reported in Pavlohrad.
As of 23:15, an air raid alert remains in effect.
Earlier, President Zelensky referenced intelligence data indicating that Russia would intensify attacks ahead of negotiations in Washington to strengthen its bargaining position.
