Russian Forces Launch Drone Attacks on Kharkiv, Causing Casualties
On the morning of July 7, 2025, Russian occupation forces conducted two waves of kamikaze drone strikes on Kharkiv, deploying a total of ten Iranian-made Shahed-2 unmanned aerial vehicles. As a result, the number of casualties has risen to 71, including seven children, according to the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhova. Tragically, one woman succumbed to her injuries in a medical facility, reports 24brussels.
Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, noted that six injured adults and two children are currently hospitalized. Emergency services and law enforcement are actively working at the attack sites.
The strikes have resulted in significant damage, destroying and damaging private homes, apartment buildings, vehicles, shops, and administrative structures. Additionally, one drone targeted the Kharkiv regional recruitment center.
Authorities continue to assess the situation and provide support to those affected while restoring order and safety in the region. The community remains on high alert as military operations escalate in the area.
