Russian Forces Strike Sumy Region, Casualties Confirmed

On August 5, 2025, Russian occupying forces launched a ballistic missile strike on the Pyshchansky starosta in the Sumy region of Ukraine, targeting an agricultural enterprise, according to Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration, in a post on his Telegram channel.

Preliminary reports indicate that two individuals have died as a result of the missile attack, with additional injuries also confirmed. Medical personnel are currently providing the necessary assistance to the victims.

Emergency responders and law enforcement are on-site at the impact location. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the affected enterprise, with further information regarding the extent of injuries and damage still being clarified.

This attack follows a series of strikes, including on July 30, when Russian forces targeted the building of the Sumy regional state administration for the third time. Two individuals were injured in that incident, which also damaged critical infrastructure in the city center.

The situation remains fluid, with updates expected as rescue efforts continue and further assessments are made.
