Russia Turns Stolen Ukrainian Grain into a Global Business

Occupying forces have transformed stolen Ukrainian grain into a large-scale business, with approximately 70 countries, including Egypt, Turkey, and Iran, purchasing what is designated as “Russian” wheat, reports 24brussels.

This season, the Kremlin aims to solidify its position in the global market by utilizing resources pilfered from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The Center for National Resistance also reported that Russian looters have exported over 2.5 million tons of wheat from the temporarily occupied regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

Previously, Kyiv had announced plans to request the EU to impose sanctions against Bangladeshi companies importing wheat from Russian-occupied territories. Since 2014, Russia has controlled a significant portion of southern agricultural regions in Ukraine, and Kyiv accused Moscow of stealing grain even before the full-scale invasion in 2022. In Moscow, these allegations are denied, claiming that the territories in question rightfully belong to Russia.
