Russia Stages Propaganda Show in Occupied Donetsk
On September 15, 2025, Russian authorities organized a staged propaganda event in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast, presenting it as an official visit by foreign guests, reports 24brussels.
The head of the occupation administration in Donetsk, Denis Pushilin, ceremonially welcomed so-called “journalists and politicians” from the United States, France, Brazil, Belgium, Turkey, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. However, the event was little more than a façade used by the occupiers for propaganda purposes, with invited individuals serving solely as tools to promote the Kremlin’s narrative.
Attendees were shown carefully curated locations, such as the Mariupol Drama Theatre, Azovstal, and bases of Russian militants, all framed as a means of “understanding the truth about Donbas.” In reality, the occupiers cynically exploited sites of war crimes to distort facts and shift blame for their actions onto Ukraine.
Reports earlier indicated that Russian invaders have been bringing in militants from within Russian territory to fill positions in occupation administrations, aiming to address a staffing shortage within their ranks.
