Russian Airstrikes Hit Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, Causing Casualties

On July 22, 2025, Russian airstrikes in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk resulted in the death of a ten-year-old boy and injured at least 12 civilians, according to the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.

Investigators reported that at approximately 4:40 AM, Russian forces dropped a guided FAB-250 bomb on a residential area in Kramatorsk. The bomb struck an apartment building, leading to the death of the child and injuries to another eight residents, including males and females aged between 20 and 58.

At the same time, Sloviansk was also targeted by airstrikes. Two bombs were dropped on residential structures, resulting in injuries to four individuals: two men, aged 39 and 53, along with two women aged 53 and 63. They suffered from blast injuries, open fractures, and lacerations.

Medical assistance was provided to the injured. Additionally, the assaults caused damage to high-rise buildings and vehicles in the affected areas.

Prior to these incidents, Russian forces attacked a residential area in Sumy, resulting in damage to five apartment buildings, a shopping centre, and at least 18 vehicles. Two residents in one of the most severely hit buildings required hospitalization. More than ten local residents sought medical care following the attacks.

Reports indicate a continuing pattern of air assaults targeting civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, prompting international condemnation of such military strategies, which frequently result in collateral damage and civilian casualties. The situation remains dire as military actions persist across various regions.

This escalating violence underscores the ongoing conflict’s toll on civilian populations and raises concerns over the humanitarian impact of sustained military operations.
