Russian Airstrike Hits Kharkiv Medical Facility, Casualties Reported
A Russian airstrike struck a medical facility in Kharkiv’s Saltivskyi district on the evening of October 13, injuring at least six individuals, officials reported. The attack utilized guided aviation bombs, resulting in the evacuation of all 57 patients to another hospital in the city, reports 24brussels.
The city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov, confirmed the incident. They noted that approximately 30,000 subscribers experienced power outages as a consequence of the strike.
Terekhov stated in a comment to “Novyny.LIVE” that three guided bombs were deployed against the facility, damaging its structure and the power lines in the area. “Medical professionals are conducting additional assessments for injuries and stress responses among the affected individuals,” he added, emphasizing that Russian forces are intentionally targeting the city’s energy and civilian infrastructure.
Synegubov further clarified that the explosions shattered windows in the medical institution, ignited a one-story garage building covering an area of 85 square meters, and damaged 17 vehicles nearby.
In a related warning, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine might need to import electricity and gas this winter due to intensified Russian attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.
