Russian Forces Target Kharkiv Region with Airstrikes, Family Among Casualties

On the evening of July 23, 2025, Russian occupation forces dropped 250-kilogram aerial bombs equipped with a universal guidance and correction module on the village of Pidlyman in the Borivska community of Kharkiv region. The airstrikes damaged residential buildings, sparking fires, and resulted in the death of an entire family due to the terrorist actions by Russian forces, reports 24brussels.

Rescue teams discovered the bodies of a 58-year-old man, his 57-year-old wife, and their 36-year-old son beneath the rubble of one home. The family had been displaced from Bohuslavka.

Just days prior, Russian forces conducted a massive assault on Kharkiv using strike drones, with 11 impacts reported in the city. A fire ignited in the area of a local enterprise as a result of these attacks.

This latest incident adds to the escalating violence in the region, raising concerns about the ongoing humanitarian crisis and safety of civilians. Local authorities have condemned the airstrikes and called for urgent international assistance.

In response to the continuous attacks, Ukrainian officials have reiterated the necessity of air defense enhancements, aiming to protect vulnerable communities in conflict zones. The recent escalation comes amid ongoing diplomatic tensions and failed ceasefire negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, which have achieved little tangible progress.
