Massive Missile and Drone Attack on Kyiv Causes Casualties
On August 28, 2025, a large-scale missile and drone strike targeted Kyiv, resulting in at least four injuries in the Dniprovskyi district, reports 24brussels. Kyiv’s mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, confirmed the injuries via Telegram, stating that all wounded individuals have been hospitalized.
The attack also caused a fire in a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, with damage reported to an office building as well.
As per Klitschko’s earlier updates, the extent of the damage includes:
- In the Darnytskyi district, two residential buildings sustained damage, while a fire is being extinguished in a non-residential structure.
- In the Dniprovskyi district, debris fell on a three-story office building, leading to a fire, with flames also erupting in a multi-story residential building.
- In the Shevchenkivskyi district, non-residential structures were impacted.
- In the Solomianskyi district, a private house caught fire.
- In the Dniprovskyi district, a fire erupted in a 25-story residential building, with falling debris landing on a kindergarten’s grounds.
At 4:24 AM, Klitschko reported significant damage to a five-story building in the Darnytskyi district, from the first to the fifth floors. Emergency services are responding to the situation.
By 4:33 AM, the head of Kyiv’s military administration, Timur Tkachenko, reported the first fatality linked to the attack, confirming that a man has died.
