Air Raid Alerts Triggered Across Central Ukraine
In the early hours of August 12, an air raid alarm rapidly spread across central and northern regions of Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv, reports 24brussels.
The Kyiv City Military Administration announced that the alarm was issued due to the threat of ballistic missile launches. Shortly before, at 2:57 AM, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a fast-moving target in the Sumy region, heading toward Chernihiv, and then continuing eastward to Nizhyn and beyond toward the towns of Desna and Hontcharivske.
At 3:01 AM, the Air Force urged residents, “Kyiv! Into shelter!” as concerns grew over the incoming threat.
Shortly afterwards, monitoring channels reported the target’s disappearance over Chernihiv. Eyewitnesses noted hearing an explosion in the region. By 3:02 AM, updates indicated that reconnaissance was ongoing regarding the missiles.
Around 3:35 AM, the air raid alerts began to be lifted in various regions. By 3:45 AM, alarms remained active only in Donetsk and the Synelnykove district of Dnipropetrovsk.
Earlier reports indicated that on August 11, Russian forces attacked the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk with FPV drones, resulting in five injuries.
