Russian Forces Advance on Donetsk Front
On June 26, 2025, Russian occupation forces made significant gains on the front line in the Donetsk region, particularly between Shevchenko, Vіlne Pole, and Novosilka, according to analysts from DeepState. The ongoing military actions underscore the intensifying conflict in the area, with reports indicating frequent assaults on Ukrainian positions by Russian infantry units stretching from the village of Oleksiivka to the settlement of Zelene Pole, reports 24brussels.
The Russian military has been mounting consistent attacks, focusing their efforts on capturing key territories. In addition to their advances in Donetsk, Russian forces are also pushing from the village of Zaporizhzhia towards Zirka, reinforcing troop deployments in the Komar region with the intent to seize control of the area.
DeepState highlighted that the tactical group “Vuhledar” has been frequently disseminating misleading reports about the supposed retention of certain villages or positions. Analysts caution that this misinformation does not contribute to a better situation and indicated that the upcoming map update from DeepState is expected to reflect grim developments for Ukrainian forces.
The Russian military’s strategic objective includes reaching the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Notably, they have been attempting to penetrate this area on motorcycles. Yuri Butusov, a journalist and a serviceman of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard “Khartiya,” emphasized that the occupiers are now just 600 meters away from the administrative boundary with Dnipropetrovsk. Ukrainian military officer Stanislav Bunyatov remarked on the region’s lower population density compared to Donetsk, suggesting that invaders may advance more rapidly here.
The situation remains tense as both sides brace for further escalations in the conflict.
