Russian Drone Strike Disrupts Gas Supply in Odesa Region

On August 6, during the night, Russian forces attacked the Izmail district of Odesa Oblast using strike drones. The assault damaged gas infrastructure, leaving over 2,500 subscribers without service, reports 24brussels.

According to Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, the attack ignited a fire that was brought under control by 7:25 AM. The fire destroyed production equipment and resulted in a disruption of gas supply due to damage to the main gas pipeline.

“Efforts are currently underway to release gas from the system, with all authorized services activated. Work continues to eliminate the aftermath of the attack,” Kiper stated.

He added that law enforcement agencies are documenting yet another instance of a Russian crime against civilian infrastructure.

In related news, Russian forces have also attacked Kupiansk, where rescuers are searching for individuals trapped under the rubble of a multi-story building.
