Russian drone strikes hit Zaporizhzhia, causing fire in residential area

Russian Drone Strikes Target Zaporizhzhia: Urgent Response Needed

On September 9, 2025, at approximately 12:50 AM, explosions were reported in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reports 24brussels.

Shortly thereafter, Fedorov confirmed that Russian forces launched drone attacks on the regional center. Initial reports indicate that a private house is ablaze as a result of the hostile strike, with emergency services dispatched to manage the situation.

Fedorov urged residents of the region to remain in safe locations. As of this moment, air raid alerts have been in effect for over two hours, having been declared at 10:45 PM on September 8.

At 12:33 AM on September 9, the Ukrainian Air Forces notified about drone activity in northern Zaporizhzhia, moving toward the west.

By 1:02 AM, Fedorov reported at least two enemy strikes on Zaporizhzhia, with preliminary assessments indicating no casualties at this time. The air raid alert for the Zaporizhzhia region was lifted at 1:17 AM.
